A Sustainable Corporate Gift That Keeps Growing

Over the past few years, Protech Group has been working on making its impact greener. Our corporate sustainability program has helped strengthen our focus on ecological responsibility, and as a result our processes have improved, reducing landfill waste and increasing the efficient use of natural resources, such as energy, water, and raw materials.

And yet, we feel an urge to do more for our planet. Furthermore, by expanding our efforts around sustainability, our program can have even greater reach throughout the corporate culture.

Instead of a traditional gift, we want to give something that doesn’t run out, but something that grows and gains value over time: a forest. In partnership with BOS+, Protech Group Belgium will support the planting of a field in Holsbeek, near Leuven, located between a busy highway and an industrial zone. An ideal place for trees to filter exhaust fumes, reduce noise, and bring back life where nature has already retreated.

The last weeks of the year bring a reflection on what matters: our loved ones, our goals, and the impact we leave behind. Notably, launching a comprehensive sustainability program at the corporate level encourages us to think deeper about our responsibility.

Flashback to 2017

It’s not the first partnership with BOS+, as we gifted a forest to our customers and employees back in 2017. Planted near our Ghent site, the once-empty field has now transformed into a young and lively forest. New saplings pushing through, wildlife reclaiming its space and natural scents filling the air. A clear reminder of how fast nature recovers when given the chance. The success of our original initiatives encouraged us to set even larger goals under our sustainability vision for the corporate program in the present day.

The Urge in 2025

Belgium is among the least forested countries in Europe, and each square meter of new green space counts. Especially in areas near highways, logistic hubs, and industrial zones, where trees have a bigger impact. Trees clean the air, reduce noise, cool their surroundings, retain water, and create a place of rest for people and animals. Increasingly, organizations recognize how a thoughtful program for corporate sustainability can drive positive environmental changes.

Our forest from 2017 demonstrates its value in nature, and its value is growing every year. Therefore, we invite everyone to pause for a moment and reflect on their own footprint.
