The Protech Group’s Strongsville, Ohio, manufacturing facility specializes in automotive powder coatings and is certified to IATF 16949:2016. This certification demonstrates our commitment to meeting the rigorous quality standards and performance expectations of the global automotive industry.
A2LA is an internationally recognized accreditation body that evaluates organizations performing conformity assessment activities. Through its rigorous accreditation process, A2LA verifies that laboratories operate with qualified personnel, validated methods, and controlled processes, giving customers confidence that testing is conducted accurately, objectively, and in accordance with internationally recognized standards.
The Protech Group’s Strongsville, Ohio laboratory is accredited by A2LA under certificate number 7143.01 to ISO/IEC 17025:2017. This accreditation demonstrates our ability to perform a wide range of coating performance tests with results that are trusted and recognized throughout the industry.
Protech Testing Capabilities
UL (Underwriters Laboratories) is an independent global safety science organization that develops standards and certifies products for safety, performance, and reliability. UL certification provides assurance that products have been independently tested and meet rigorous industry requirements.
The Protech Group offers several UL-certified powder coating systems, including hybrid (H-Series) and polyester formulations within our P-Series and D-Series product lines. These coating systems are certified for electrical and environmental safety under UL File MH16491 (DTOV2), helping customers meet demanding industry and regulatory requirements.
AAMA architectural performance standards define the requirements for the durability, appearance, and weatherability of coatings applied to building products such as aluminum, PVC, vinyl, and fiberglass composite profiles. These widely recognized specifications help architects, designers, and manufacturers select coating systems that deliver long-term performance in demanding exterior environments. QUALICOAT is an international quality label dedicated to coated aluminum used in architectural applications. It establishes rigorous requirements for surface pretreatment, coating performance, application processes, and quality assurance to help ensure long-term durability and consistent quality.
In Europe, The Protech Group offers eight QUALICOAT-approved powder coating systems for architectural applications, including façades, windows, doors, and structural components. These coatings are engineered to deliver outstanding weather resistance, color stability, and long-term outdoor performance while meeting the stringent requirements of the QUALICOAT specification.
QUALISTEELCOAT is an international quality label for organic coating systems applied to steel. Similar to QUALICOAT for aluminum, it establishes rigorous requirements for surface preparation, coating performance, corrosion protection, application processes, and quality assurance. Coating systems are classified according to the ISO 12944 corrosivity categories, from C1 to C5, ensuring the appropriate level of protection for different service environments.
In Europe, The Protech Group offers a range of QUALISTEELCOAT-approved powder coating systems for corrosion protection on steel structures and components, helping customers meet recognized international quality standards for demanding architectural and industrial applications. GSB International is a German quality label organization for coated aluminum and steel used in architectural applications. Its certification program establishes rigorous requirements for coating performance, including adhesion, corrosion resistance, weatherability, and UV stability, helping ensure long-term durability and consistent quality.
Our GSB-certified powder coating systems are designed for architectural and industrial applications where long-term appearance, corrosion protection, and coating performance are essential. The Protech Group currently holds two GSB Standard Florida 1 certifications.
