A key step in expanding Protech’s PVC plastisol coatings portfolio and market presence, the Protech Group acquired Loes Enterprises, Inc. on September 5, 2025. Loes, based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, is a custom compounder of PVC plastisol coatings and related products. Operations were integrated into Chemionics, Protech’s Specialty Materials Division, in Tallmadge, Ohio.
The Protech Group is pleased to announce that it has acquired the coatings business and also the assets of Caldwell Chemical Coatings, based in Fayetteville, Tennessee. This acquisition strengthens Protech Group’s presence in the industrial coatings market. Caldwell is a well-recognized name in liquid industrial coatings. Also, it has been providing quality specialty products and excellent service to its clients for many years.
In 2024, The Protech Group purchased the Promal facility in Poland, which had been leased for many years. The building now serves as Protech’s owned warehouse and distribution center in Piaseczno, strengthening our logistics and regional presence.

In 2023, The Protech Group expanded its global headquarters in Montréal, Canada. The expansion enhanced office space, technical resources, and operational capabilities to support the company’s continued growth and global operations.
In October 2023, The Protech Group acquired MF Paints, a Quebec-based manufacturer of architectural wall paints, adding a new product line to its portfolio. The brand now benefits from Protech’s global support and expertise while continuing to serve the architectural paints market.
The Protech Group acquired Evotech Industrial Paints of Canada in 2022, a manufacturer specializing in industrial liquid coatings. With its main production facility in Cornwall, Ontario, and service centers in Quebec City and North York, the acquisition strengthens Protech’s liquid coatings portfolio and expands its presence across Eastern Canada.
On October 18, 2021, The Protech Group acquired Lynx Thermoset Coating Ltd., based in Calgary, Alberta. With over 40 years of experience in thermoset powder coatings, Lynx strengthens Protech’s presence in Western Canada. The Calgary manufacturing site remains fully operational, with all employees joining the Protech Group team.
In 2020, The Protech Group acquired the industrial liquid coatings division of Winslow Browning Inc., located in Liberty, Indiana, USA. This acquisition expands Protech’s liquid coatings portfolio and strengthens its presence in the North American industrial paints market, adding valuable technical expertise and manufacturing capabilities.
In 2020, The Protech Group acquired the coatings division of ACG Industry in France. The manufacturing equipment was integrated into existing European facilities, expanding Protech’s industrial coatings capacity and strengthening its presence in the European market.
In 2017, The Protech Group acquired Trimite Powders Inc., based in Spartanburg, South Carolina. A well-established name in the powder coatings industry, Trimite strengthens Protech’s thermoset powder coating presence in the United States. The Spartanburg manufacturing operations continue to serve customers while benefiting from Protech’s global technologies and product portfolio.
In 2017, The Protech Group acquired the business and manufacturing assets of Chemionics Corporation in Tallmadge, Ohio. A recognized developer and manufacturer of specialty plastisol and latex formulations, Chemionics strengthens Protech’s thermoplastics coatings portfolio and global technology capabilities.
In 2013, The Protech Group acquired the powder coatings business of NPA Coatings Inc. (Seibert Powder Coatings), located in Cleveland, Ohio. The acquisition expanded Protech’s presence in the U.S. powder coatings market, particularly in the automotive sector. All operations are now located at Protech’s manufacturing facility in Strongsville, Ohio.
In 2013, The Protech Group acquired its powder coatings distributor, Promal, in Poland. This acquisition strengthened Protech’s distribution capabilities and market presence in Eastern Europe.
In 2012, The Protech–Oxyplast Group acquired the thermoplastic powder and liquid coatings businesses of Thermoclad Company in Erie, Pennsylvania. A global leader in PVC powder coatings for fabricated metals such as fencing and dishwasher racks, Thermoclad strengthened Protech’s thermoplastics portfolio and expanded its expertise in environmentally responsible coating technologies. Today, Protech’s thermoplastic coatings operations are based in York, Pennsylvania.

In 2012, The Protech–Oxyplast Group acquired the powder coating business and manufacturing assets of Innotek Powder Coatings in Big Spring, Texas. Known for its high-performance thermoplastic powder coatings, Innotek strengthened Protech’s thermoplastics technology and complemented its global thermoset powder coatings portfolio. Today, Protech’s thermoplastic coatings operations are based in York, Pennsylvania.
In 2006, The Protech Group acquired Ecopowder s.r.o. (POCZ) in the Czech Republic. The acquisition expanded Protech’s thermoset powder coatings manufacturing and distribution footprint in Europe and strengthened its presence in Central and Eastern European markets.
In 2006, The Protech/Oxyplast Group acquired the powder coatings business of Flanders Powder NV in Wevelgem, Belgium. The integration of these operations into the Oxyplast facility in Ghent significantly expanded production capacity, effectively doubling output and strengthening Protech’s presence in the European powder coatings market.
In 2004, the Protech Group acquired Oxyplast N.V., a Belgium-based pioneer in powder coatings located in Ghent. Founded in the 1960s, Oxyplast manufactures and markets powder coatings worldwide through a network of licensees. Today, the facility in Ghent, Belgium, serves as Protech’s European headquarters.
In 2001, The Protech Group acquired Denalt Powder Coatings as part of its strategy to expand its thermoset powder coatings operations in Canada. The acquisition strengthened Protech’s manufacturing capabilities and reinforced its presence in the Canadian powder coatings market.
In 2000, The Protech Group acquired Prolux Paints in Montréal, Canada, strengthening its position in industrial liquid coatings. The acquisition expanded Protech’s coatings portfolio and reinforced its manufacturing and technical capabilities in the Canadian market.
